1st prayer for 2010.
2010 is upon us. New year resolutions have been made and probably already broken.
I would like to look at the beginning of the year as time to spring clean. Spring cleaning is a daunting task but needs to be done , for if we don’t spring clean rubbish collects and clutters the space.
Life , As it happens , is littered with situations that need ongoing attention and maintenance. We need to look within ourselves and get rid of the clutter of jealousy, hate, anger , bitterness etc from our lives.
Once we spring clean our lives we can listen less to our thoughts and more to GOD’S thoughts.
When our hearts are reconnected with GOD’S energy , we feel HIS strength and are truly energised. HE is able to renew our mind and create in us thoughts of joy, peace and happiness which is our (HUMAN BEINGS) natural state.
So for the year 2010 I choose to dwell on the following thoughts based on PSALM 123.
1} The universe I live in is full of abundance , so all my needs will be met.
2} Majority of the people in the Universe are happy and healthy, so I choose to attract health and happiness.
3) My family loves me and I love the members of my family.
4} There is an abundance of peace loving and harmonious people in the universe and I am one of them
5} GOD is still in control of the universe and I choose to live in HIS light and guidance.
I HAVE THE VISION AND YOU MY GOD HAVE THE PROVISION.
PRAYER.
Father : Thank you for the gift of life. You are the GOD of love, peace, joy, power and
Purpose.
Thank you for creating me in Your image and including me in Your
Purpose for this universe. With Your love and energy within me I will
Live a peaceful, harmonious and fulfilling life in year 2010.
AMEN.
Thought: GOD HAS MADE EACH OF US UNIQUE AND GIVEN EACH OF US A SPECIAL GIFT AND A SPECIFIC PURPOSE TO FULFIL IN LIFE.
December is a very important month. It heralds the end of the working year. It is time for Christmas parties and exchanges of gifts. Kris kringle abounds.
There is a hustle and bustle in the air; shops open longer hours as people go in search of that perfect gift.
Are you having trouble in searching that perfect gift? I have a few suggestions for worthwhile gifts.
- Gift of forgiveness, how about forgiving some one you are harbouring a grudge against.
- Gift of contact , make contact with family, friends and relatives with whom you have not spoken for a while and listen to their voice.
- Gift of happiness, buy a box of chocolate and some magazines and visit a lonely person in a retirement village .
- Gift of compliment , sincerely complimenting your work colleagues and your boss.
- The gift of a written note expressing your appreciation and or affection.
As we exchange gifts and have parties , let us not forget the best gift the human kind has ever received . “ the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ “. Let us spare a thought for this indescribable gift of GOD in the person of Jesus Christ who gives us all everlasting life.
The best gift this Christmas is Jesus Christ .
God,s wish for us ------ a quiet peace
His hope for us ------- a love Divine
His gift to us ------- eternal and abundant life.

Thank You Dear GOD for Christmas time and your gift to human kind.
I thank you for family and friends and your love divine.
I gratefully receive your gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ.

We are fast approaching the end of the calendar year and many of us are rejoicing because our year has been fruitful. While some of us are stressed and frustrated because we have failed to give fruit to our new year resolutions. A few us believe that December is the end of our destination, IT IS NOT. Our life is a journey and we need to remain focused on our resolution or the vision.
Remember unless we have a personal dream or vision, we will not enjoy our life’s journey nor will be successful in our life. God says “WHERE THERE IS NO VISION THE PEOPLE PERISH”. To keep our vision alive we need to live a disciplined life.
We must ask ourselves how disciplined is our life? What am I using my energies on?
What am I putting my heart and soul into? Where am I investing my money?
My vision and dream dictates where I channel my resources.
The movies and television programmes I watch, the books I read , are they helping me or hindering me in achieving my dreams? If I am only reading romantic and fictional novel then I am living in a fantasy world and not living out my dream. What am I taking into my body? What I eat and drink, is it making me healthy or making me lethargic and lazy? If we want to achieve our vision and make our dream a reality we must take care of our health.
What is our attitude towards life ? if we know where we are going we can keep our attitude positive. When and if things go wrong we can say it is only a temporary set back because I know what my destination is .Staying FOCUSED on our dream is very important Seeing our destination in our minds eye helps us to discipline our life to achieve our vision and dream.
In the Bible Paul says “ Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent – think about such things” .
PRAYER
HEAVENLY FATHER , all that I have and all that I do I dedicate to you . I dedicate my vision and my dream to you and pray for your strength and blessing to achieve it.
Dear GOD I submit my energy, my money, my entertainment and my health to you.
Enhance my ability to trust in your Word .Search me, O GOD and know my heart and lead me to achieve my vision.
AMEN.
LIFE IS BLESSED and GOOD
Romans 8: 31-39
While celebrating my 40th wedding anniversary with family and friends , I reminded myself of the simple truth that life is blessed and good. I think that each one of us needs to remind ourselves of this simple truth ‘ that life is good ‘.
Sometimes with the work of earning a living, raising a family, maintaining health and fitness and managing relationships start to overwhelm us and stress us, it is then that we need to focus on GOD and realise how small our part in the universe really is.
While we obsess and stress over our work, GOD quietly does HIS work .
God keeps the planets revolving, the earth rotating and the seasons changing without any help from us. God makes the sunrise every morning and set every evening. Without lifting a finger we get to enjoy sunrises and sunsets. Every year the seasons change on schedule. We do not need to pray about it or remind GOD to bring spring. All these remind us that HE is a meticulous and good God. He loves each one of us because HE created us in HIS own image and crowned us with Glory and Honour.
Sure life at times gets difficult and painful but it still is good. We need to constantly remind ourselves that nothing can separate us from the love of GOD.
HEBREWS 13.5 “I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU” says God.
PRAYER
Thank You heavenly Father , for the good gift of life. Forgive me for making it complicated for others and myself. Give me the grace to love others as YOU love me
Help me to find goodness in every thing you have created.
I thank You GOD for family and friends. I thank you for your immeasurable grace, YOUR inexhaustible mercy and YOUR fathomless peace.
I thank you and praise YOU for my life
Amen.
We all love to watch reality shows of good luck or unexpected blessings.
The show on channel 9 “Home Blitz” touches every ones heart. We delight in their joy and good fortune. We even imagine what it would be like if we had the same means of blessing others.
The fact is we all have some gift or talent that we can bless others with. We are surrounded with opportunities to share our blessings with others.
Open our houses for prayer, fellowship and laughter, wishing family, friends, and work colleagues on their special days like birthdays and anniversaries. Sending a get-well card to some one who is not well, taking a small gift to a new neighbour. Ringing some one and saying you were thinking of them, genuinely complimenting people and of course sharing a smile even with strangers.
If we wait to do benevolent deeds on great scale, we miss the opportunity of making some one happy. Bible says, “Do not withhold good from those who deserve it when it is in your power to help them.” Proverbs 3:27.
One Peter 4: 8-10
God says “And above all things have fervent love for one another, for love will cover a multitude of sins. Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of GOD.
PRAYER
Dear God, our heavenly Father fill me with your spirit that I will have the strength to love others as YOU have loved me.
Give me the wisdom to make someone feel special and blessed
