PRAYER FOR SEPTEMBER 2013

BLESSINGS -- Proverbs 10 verse 22

“The blessings of the LORD makes rich and HE adds no sorrow to it”

We had a get together of ex teachers and students of a school I taught at nearly 30 years ago. It was a great night as we all chatted and caught up after three decades. It was a fun night as we remembered our time together .When it was time to share the greatest impact the school had on each one of us , one of the teachers stood up and said “ the hymn we sang , count your blessings , name them one by one ” had the greatest impact on her. Even today when she runs into difficulties, she counts her blessings. What a beautiful reminder!

We should all count our blessings and be grateful for what we have. In the Bible the word BLESSING / BLESSED appears 287 times. When we count our blessings we forget our problems. I am always reminded of the story where a man was complaining about his shoes until he met a man with no legs .Yes , lets count our blessings one by one and it will surprise us what God has done.

1. Our blessings of freedom, food, family, friends, finance etc.
2. The blessing of a good laugh, a quick embrace, an unexpected phone call.
3. The blessing of fresh air, sunshine, rain and the beauty of nature.

God blessed us with physical, material and spiritual elements when HE created us so we can all lead a joyful and prosperous life and be grateful for the many blessings we enjoy each day.  

PRAYER

Thank you God for the abundance of blessings YOU have bestowed upon me. Open my eyes to appreciate your gifts and thank you for YOUR care.
